    ABOUT THE RESORT

Silvretta Arena is composed of Ischgl, Galtur, Kappl and See resorts in Austria and Samnaun in Switzerland

Galtür, Kappl, and See are part of the broader Silvretta ski region and are included in the comprehensive Silvretta Ski Pass, which covers over 300km of pistes across all four areas plus Ischgl and Samnaun. While not directly connected by ski lifts to the main Ischgl/Samnaun arena, they are linked by a free ski bus service.

Ischgl, located in Austria’s Paznaun Valley, is a premier alpine destination renowned for high-altitude skiing and a vibrant, luxurious après-ski scene. Connected to Samnaun, Switzerland, for duty-free shopping, it offers modern infrastructure, reliable snow, and top-tier nightlife.

    • Ischgl/Samnaun: The central, interconnected, snow-sure “Silvretta Arena” (approx. 239km) linking Austria and Switzerland.
    • Galtür: Known for its “Silvapark,” a separate ski area offering ~41km of slopes.
    • Kappl & See: Family-friendly, independent ski areas in the Paznaun Valley.
    • Pass Options: A full Silvretta pass is required to ski all areas (Ischgl, Samnaun, Galtür, Kappl, and See).

    THE MOUNTAIN

Ischgl is part of the sprawling Silvretta Arena, which spans 239 kilometers of groomed, high-altitude slopes stretching over the border into Samnaun, Switzerland. The ski area is remarkably snow-sure, with slopes ranging from 1,377m to 2,872m, allowing for a season that lasts from late November to early May. The resort features a state-of-the-art, 45-lift system that quickly transports skiers out of the valley, minimizing wait times despite its popularity. While best for intermediates, there is extensive off-piste terrain and a large, high-quality terrain park.

    ACCOMMODATIONS & CUISINE

The village is a blend of traditional Tyrolean style and luxury modern design, dominated by family-run guesthouses, chic boutique hotels, and high-end spa resorts. Many accommodations are located close to the main lifts, offering convenient access, while some are situated in the neighboring villages of Mathon or Kappl for a quieter experience. The dining scene is exceptional, ranging from rustic, cozy ski huts on the mountain serving traditional Tiroler Gröstl to gourmet restaurants in the town center.

    NIGHTLIFE

Ischgl is widely regarded as having some of the best après-ski in Europe. The party often starts in the mid-afternoon at spots like Paznauner Thaya, located on the mountain, before moving down to infamous village venues such as the Trofana Alm, Kuhstall, and Niki’s Stadl. The nightlife scene is fast-paced, high-energy, and continues into the early hours of the morning.

    PERKS

Cross-Border Skiing: Seamlessly ski between Austria and Switzerland (Samnaun) to take advantage of spectacular terrain and fascinating culture in both countries!

Top of the Mountain Concerts: Legendary opening and closing season concerts feature major international artists on top of the mountain or in the village.

Efficiency: A mostly pedestrianized, compact center connected by an underground tunnel with a travelator.

Diverse Activities: Beyond skiing, the resort offers a 7km floodlit toboggan run, paragliding, and the “Skyfly” zip wire.

Excellent Ski School: A highly recommended ski school with specialized zones for all levels.

Wellness Center: Silveretta Therme – one of the best relaxation facilities in the Alps!
