Killington Resort is located in the Green Mountains of central Vermont, near the town of in Rutland and is the largest ski resort in the Eastern United States. The resort is made up of six interconnected mountain areas, as well as Pico Mountain (also owned by Killington, but operated separately) and is known as the “Beast of the East”.
Killington has a massive amount of terrain, which caters to skiers and snowboarders of all ability levels. Since the resort is located within close proximity to several neighboring states, has a long season from November to May (often stretching from October-June), it is no wonder why this is a favorite amongst hardcore skiers and snowboarders. Killington is also the perfect resort for families, couples, and groups of friends looking to enjoy Vermont’s charm and warm hospitality!
Flight into Rutland Regional Airport, then a 35 minute shuttle to the resort (21 miles/34 kms). It is also possible to fly into Burlington International Airport, which is 1 hour 45 minutes away (93 miles/150 kms).

Killington Resort
Killington boasts an impressive vertical drop of 3,050 feet spread-out over 1,977 skiable acres (including Pico Mountain), and is home to the second highest point (Killington Peak) in Vermont at 4,241 feet. With 212 trails over 73 miles, 21 lifts, and 250″ of natural snowfall, Killington has definitely earned its nickname the “Beast of the East”.
(3,800 ft/1,158 m) – Terrain suitable for all ability levels and home to some of the most well known expert runs on the mountain, such as Vertigo & Ovation. Superstar is another classic run, which holds Volkswagon bus size moguls, and due to its extensive snowmaking keeps spring skiing going until or end of May or June on most seasons.
(3,610 ft/1,100 m) – Features wonderful terrain for beginner and intermediate skiers/snowboarders and the Swirl trail is the place for racing training.
This mountain park provides a great network of featured terrain areas for all ability levels and ages. There is a freestyle zone, learning zone, and a good mix of everything in between. In 2020, Snowboarder Magazine awarded Woodward the best terrain park in the east!
