If you’re looking for a winter experience in California’s Lake Tahoe area, visit Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows. These resorts are located on Tahoe’s North shore, in the Olympic Valley, and offer breathtaking views of Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

Squaw Valley & Alpine Meadows became one massive resort in 2012 and both areas can be skied/snowboarded with the same lift pass.  Each resort has something different to offer and being able to ski from one resort to the other saves times and allows you to maximize vertical feet skied each day!

GETTING THERE
Fly into Reno-Tahoe International Airport with a 50 minute transfer to Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows (48 miles/77 kms).

RESORTS IN THE AREA

Squaw Valley is the larger of the two resorts and has a wide range of terrain for all ability levels. For newbies, Squaw Valley has welcoming instructors and convenient access. It’s not all for beginners though, Squaw has challenging near vertical chutes, bowls, and steep faces.  Squaw is also famous for hosting the 1960 Winter Olympic Games. The base area village at Squaw has a good selection of lodging, dining, shopping, cafes, and nightlife.
