Tourist vs. Traveler

2015-02-27

Lets just start out by saying that there is nothing wrong with being either a Tourist or a Traveler. Either way, you’re much better off than the folks that never go anywhere or see anything. That being said, most people would agree that Travelers are the more evolved of the two. Travelers are cool, they fit in, they enjoy themselves, and always try to make the most of life. Tourists are slightly narcissistic, checklist driven, and vaguely paranoid but they’re still travelers on some basic level. You see, being a Traveler is not so much about where you go or what you do—it’s about how you do it. It’s a state of mind—a way of interacting with your surroundings. Travelers tend to make themselves at home wherever they go. They live in the moment. Tourists, on the other hand, never really leave home behind. They’re always looking for the familiar in unfamiliar places. Now, we all find ourselves looking for glimpses of home from time-to-time but when you do it too often you miss out on the world right in front of you. At EndlessTurns.com, our advice is “Be a Traveler, not a Tourist”.
