Bariloche Airport Re-Opens July 1st
2011-06-28
After being closed for nearly three weeks, the Bariloche Airport is scheduled to open once again on Friday, July 1st. Operations will start off slowly but should be back to normal after a few days. The ash from the Chile’s Puyehue-Cordon Caulle Volcano is continuing to send some ash across the Andes Mountains from Chile to Argentina, after its major eruption occurred back on June 4, 2011. However, the volcano has stabilized quite a it this past week and reports from the region are that the ash is now at a minimal level in the atmosphere around Bariloche and should not have anymore effect on air travel. Please stay tuned for more updates, as we will be keeping you posted on the opening date for the airport in San Martin de Los Andes, as well as the Esquel Airport.
