The following resorts have not been affected by the ash from the eruption of Chile’s Puyehue-Cordon Caulle Volcano:
– Nevados de Chillan (Chile)
– Portillo (Chile)
– Valle Nevado (Chile)
– La Parva (Chile)
– El Colorado (Chile)
– Pucon (the ski resort on Volcan Villarica in Chile)
– Las Lenas (Argentina)
The following resorts have been affected by the ash from the volcanic eruption, but will be up and running again shortly:
– Gran Caredral Resort in Bariloche (Argentina)
– Cerro Chapelco in San Martin de Los Andes (Argentina)
– Cerro Castor (Ushuaia)-this resort will open as scheduled on Friday, July 1st
– La Hora in Esquel
The Cerro Bayo Resort was hit the hardest and is still digging out after 2 feet or more of ash blanketed the village of Villa La Agostura. The resort will open for the 2011 ski season, but are waiting on a few mores storms to build base levels prior to announcing their opening date. As soon as we have their opening date, we will post it.
