ABOUT THE RESORT
Scenic beauty, character and charm, legendary terrain, and lack of crowds… It’s a long list, and the simple fact is, you’ll never forget your first time in Telluride and it will certainly not be your last! Forty-five minutes from the nearest stoplight, at the end of a towering canyon sits Telluride, Colorado at an elevation of 8,750′. Telluride is a national landmark surrounded by the highest concentration of 13,000’ – 14,000’ peaks in the United States.
Above the historic mining town of Telluride is a modern mountain village, connected by a free pedestrian gondola, the only one of its kind in North America. Unlike any other resort in North America, Telluride’s location and size allow guests to revel in a peaceful atmosphere, where lift lines are nearly non-existent, and the people are genuinely friendly.
Mention Telluride and those who know this authentic mountain gem smile in appreciation of its sheer beauty and charm. Whether you are an experienced skier, or a first timer, Endless Turns can organize the perfect Telluride vacation for you!
THE MOUNTAIN
The mountain boasts a remarkable 4,425-foot vertical drop (1,349 m) and over 2,000 acres (810+ hectares) of skiable terrain. The terrain is well-balanced, catering to all ability levels: 23% beginner, 36% intermediate, and 41% advanced/expert. Beginners have access to gentle slopes and learning areas like Ute Park, while intermediate skiers can enjoy long, scenic groomers from the top of every chairlift. Experts will find some of the most challenging in-bounds skiing in the U.S., including the chutes, steeps, and bowls of Revelation Bowl and Black Iron Bowl, as well as hike-to terrain on Palmyra Peak.
ACCOMMODATION & CUISINE
Lodging is available in two distinct areas linked by the gondola: the historic, walkable town of Telluride and the elegant, pedestrian-friendly Mountain Village. Options range from luxury ski-in/ski-out resorts and private homes to charming boutique hotels, condos, and bed & breakfasts.
The resort area features over 60 dining establishments, from casual cafes and family-friendly spots to award-winning fine dining restaurants. From the exclusivityy of the Tempter House to the unique on-mountain dining experiences that include Alpino Vino, North America’s highest-elevation restaurant, and Allred’s, which offers fine dining with panoramic views, you’ll find these experiences are as one-of-a-kind as the San Juan Mountains that surround them.
NIGHTLIFE
Telluride offers a vibrant, yet understated, nightlife with a variety of bars, breweries, and live music venues. The historic New Sheridan Bar is a popular spot for a drink with original 1895 interiors.
PERKS
Telluride’s breathtaking scenery and historic charm make it the perfect ski destination. There are numerous inbounds hike-to terrain and backcountry skiing possibilities. The resort’s primary perk is the free public gondola that provides easy transport between the town and Mountain Village until midnight, eliminating the need for a car. Other perks include generally uncrowded slopes and minimal lift lines, a flourishing arts scene, excellent spas, and a wide array of off-slope activities like snowshoeing, ice climbing, and dog sledding. Its relative remoteness helps maintain a tranquil and authentic alpine atmosphere.
Beyond skiing, perks of visiting Steamboat include access to the natural geothermal Strawberry Park Hot Springs, the Ikon Pass, a family-friendly atmosphere, and a variety of off-mountain activities like snowshoe tours and an Outlaw Mountain Coaster, the longest in North America.
