    ABOUT THE RESORT

Welcome to the Andes Mountains of Argentina, where the Chile ski trip of a lifetime awaits! Let Endless Turns handle all the details of your all-inclusive ski & snowboarding package to the Ski Portillo Resort.

Ski Portillo, South America’s first and most iconic ski resort, offers an all-inclusive, club-like experience for a limited number of guests, ensuring uncrowded slopes and a strong sense of community. Located high in the majestic Chilean Andes with stunning views of the emerald Laguna del Inca, the resort is renowned for its personalized service and challenging terrain.

The resort sits high above the fertile grape growing valleys, which produce some of the best wines in the world.

    SKI SEASON

The season in Portillo is from late June through early October (weather dependent). Since Portillo is located high in the Andes and in a box like canyon, storms stay for days, delivering several feet each storm. Portillo can have great snow through October in their best seasons. The snow here is comparable to snow in Utah in the States, or the high resorts throughout the Alps.

    THE MOUNTAIN

The mountain at Ski Portillo features diverse terrain suitable for a range of abilities, though it particularly caters to intermediate, advanced, and expert skiers. The resort sits entirely above the tree line, with elevations ranging from 2,580 m to 3,310 m (8,460 ft to 10,860 ft), offering 35 runs and ample off-piste opportunities. A key feature is the unique, high-speed “Va et Vient” (slingshot) surface lifts, designed specifically for avalanche-prone expert chutes like Roca Jack and Condor. The resort is known for consistent snow conditions, with a high percentage of sunny days, and it serves as a summer training ground for international Olympic teams.  Feeling like an adventure, then try Portillo’s heli-skiing operation and be whisked off to the massive terrain near the famous Aconcagua Mountain.

    ACCOMMODATION & CUISINE

There are three hotels in Portillo, all of which offer incredible views of the picturesque Inca Lake. Portillo is well known for its steep chutes and vast bowl skiing, but there is great terrain for all ability levels.

Stays are typically booked as all-inclusive week-long packages (Saturday to Saturday) or mini-weeks, which include lift tickets and four meals a day: breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner. Hotel and Octagon guests dine in the formal, main dining room with attentive waiter service, while Inca Lodge guests use the cafeteria.

Hotel Portillo is renowned for having some of the best international chefs in all of Chile! With a Portillo ski package, not only are you getting access to challenging yet fun slopes, you are also getting a cultural experience you will never forget. If you can’t wait any longer to hit the slopes, book your Chile ski trip today! Hotel Portillo offers a range of options including standard rooms with lake or valley views, suites, shared rooms in the Octagon Lodge, and budget-friendly hostel-style lodging at the Inca Lodge. The Hotel Portillo is one of the nicest hotels in all of South America, redefining the 5-star hotel! Not to mention the incredible Chilean cuisine that is served up daily. There are also private chalets available for larger groups.

On-mountain dining is available at Tio Bob’s, a popular spot for lunch with spectacular views, and the Ski Box kiosk.  At Portillo you will not go hungry, as there are 4 meals a day. Whether you fancy sea bass or a nice carne, Portillo is the place. Many skiers come to Portillo for their fine food and accommodations, only to discover that the terrain is equally as good!

    NIGHTLIFE

While Portillo Village is not large, it has some very lively bars with friendly locals that make you feel like a life long friend! Nightlife and social activities are contained within the hotel complex, fostering a friendly, communal atmosphere often likened to a “cruise ship” experience. The resort features a bar with live music, a disco for dancing, a cinema, and a game room. A major highlight among the perks is the famous heated outdoor swimming pool and jacuzzis, perfect for relaxing après-ski while enjoying the mountain views. The resort has a very laidback vibe, which makes it easy to meet fellow skiers and locals alike.

    PERKS

Portillo’s unique location along the Chilean-Argentinian border provides stunning scenery in an alpine environment. Portillo has a long history as being a boutique ski resort with challenging terrain and impeccable service. Other amenities include a fitness center, sauna, massage services, and a beauty salon. The resort is very family-friendly, offering complimentary daycare for children aged 4 to 7 and supervised kids’ activities programs. Heli-skiing options are also available for an additional charge, providing access to extensive backcountry terrain.
