    ABOUT THE RESORT

Palisades Tahoe Ski Resort, located near Lake Tahoe, California, is renowned for its Olympic history and vast, diverse terrain. The resort offers a vibrant village with a variety of accommodation, dining, and nightlife options, catering to a wide range of visitors. If you’re looking for a winter experience in California’s Lake Tahoe area, visit Palisades Tahoe. The resort is located on Tahoe’s North shore, in the Olympic Valley, and offer breathtaking views of Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

Palisades Tahoe (formerly known as Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows) became one massive resort in 2012 and can now be skied/snowboarded with the same lift pass. Each resort has something different to offer and being able to ski from one resort to the other saves times and allows you to maximize vertical feet skied each day!

    THE MOUNTAIN

Palisades Tahoe is one of the largest ski resorts in North America, boasting 6,000 acres of skiable terrain across two mountains (Palisades and Alpine Meadows) connected by a Base to Base Gondola. The mountain features a significant vertical drop of 2,850 feet, from a peak elevation of 9,050 feet to a base of 6,200 feet. With an average annual snowfall of 400 inches, it is known for its reliable snowpack and often operates the longest ski season in Lake Tahoe. The terrain is well-balanced, offering everything from gentle learning zones to legendary steep runs and sixteen bowls, suitable for all skill levels.

    ACCOMMODATION & CUISINE

Lodging options primarily center around the mountainside Village at Palisades Tahoe and Olympic Valley, offering a range of choices from luxury hotels and spa resorts (like the Everline Resort & Spa) to ski-in/ski-out condominiums and cozy lodges. Many accommodations feature amenities such as gourmet kitchens, fireplaces, and access to hot tubs and fitness centers.

The culinary scene is diverse, with over 50 bars and restaurants in the Village and surrounding area. Diners can find everything from casual American fare, like burgers and gourmet pizza at Rocker or Fireside Pizza, to upscale dining experiences featuring New American and locally sourced cuisine at Six Peaks Grille or PlumpJack Cafe. International flavors, including Irish, Mexican, and Japanese, are also available.

    NIGHTLIFE

The resort has a lively après-ski atmosphere and a dynamic nightlife. Popular spots include the classic “The Chamois” for outdoor après-ski beers and the Auld Dubliner for live music and Irish pub food. The Village offers various bars, including The Loft Bar, which often hosts DJs on weekends, and the more relaxed PlumpJack’s for wine enthusiasts.

    PERKS

Key perks of visiting Palisades Tahoe include a rich history as the host of the 1960 Winter Olympics, access to a vast network of interlinked terrain, and inclusion on the Ikon Pass. Beyond skiing, the resort provides numerous non-skiing activities such as an ice skating rink, snow tubing, a high-camp swimming lagoon and spa, and an indoor climbing wall, ensuring entertainment for all visitors.
