ABOUT THE RESORT
Deer Valley is a skiers’ only mountain, that has been awarded #1 Resort in North America by Ski Magazine, 5 years in a row. With 2,026 skiable acres, 21 lifts, 103 runs, 7 bowls, and a 3,000 foot vertical drop. Deer Valley has plenty of terrain for skiers of all ability levels. Whether you like to cruise, carve, float, or bump, Deer Valley is sure to please!
Deer Valley is a boutique resort that caters to 5 star service, luxury accommodations, exquisite culinary opportunities, and fun aprés ski. Many areas in the resort have live bands and djs.
Another 100 new trails are being added over 3 mountains this season, which is the largest terrain expansion of any North American resort.

Deer Valley Resort is located 5 minutes from the town of Park City and 10 minutes from Park City Mountain Resort. The close proximity of the two resorts enables you to try both on your winter ski vacation. The grooming at the resort is meticulous, so grab your carving skis and enjoy the buffed early-morning corduroy. In addition to the excellent grooming, Deer Valley serves up excellent tree skiing, never ending bump runs, and deep powder in the alpine bowls. The resort offers ski-in, ski-out lodging, as well as numerous off mountain condos, townhomes, and private homes.
THE MOUNTAIN
Deer Valley’s terrain spans over eight mountains and features more than 2,000 acres of skiable area with a vertical drop of over 3,000 feet. The resort boasts 100+ trails suitable for all ability levels, with a focus on intermediate “corduroy cruisers” and quiet powder glades. A key feature is its status as one of the few resorts in North America that bans snowboards, contributing to a less crowded, skier-focused experience. The resort limits daily ticket sales to ensure minimal lift lines and pristine conditions.
The resort is structured around several distinct areas, each offering a unique experience and access to the mountain’s diverse terrain across multiple peaks:
SNOW PARK LODGE AREA
Located at the base of the resort, the Snow Park area serves as a primary entry point and is ideal for first-time visitors and families. It is home to the Snow Park Lodge, which houses guest services, a children’s center, ski school, and dining options. This area provides easy access to the beginner-friendly terrain on Bald Eagle Mountain and hosts summer concerts in the outdoor amphitheater.
SILVER LAKE VILLAGE AREA
Situated mid-mountain, Silver Lake Village is a vibrant hub offering a variety of ski-in/ski-out accommodations, boutique shops, and restaurants. The Silver Lake Lodge is a focal point for après-ski activities and provides access to the intermediate runs on Bald Mountain and Flagstaff Mountain. The area has an alpine ambiance and is a central location for exploring the heart of the resort.
EMPIRE CANYON AREA
Empire Canyon offers a more exclusive and luxurious experience, located at a higher elevation on the mountain. This area is known for its challenging terrain, including expert chutes and bowls, particularly on the Empire and Lady Morgan peaks. The Empire Canyon Lodge provides additional dining options and a quieter, more secluded atmosphere compared to the lower base areas.
BALD MOUNTAIN
Bald Mountain is one of the main peaks at Deer Valley, with a summit elevation of 9,340 feet. It features a diverse range of terrain, but is especially known for its pristine intermediate-level groomers, which are a highlight for many skiers. The mountain also hosts the NASTAR ski racing course near the Silver Lake Lodge
.
NEW EAST VILLAGE AND MAYFLOWER AREAS (Expansion)
As part of a major “Expanded Excellence” initiative, the new East Village and Mayflower areas are currently under development, marking a significant expansion of the resort. This new gateway, accessible via U.S. Route 40, will eventually double Deer Valley’s skiable terrain and make it one of the largest ski resorts in North America. The initial phase, previewed in the 2024/2025 season, introduced new lifts and runs, along with a new lodge and expanded parking. The East Village will include new hotels (like the Grand Hyatt Deer Valley), residences, and extensive amenities, transforming the arrival experience and providing access to thousands of new acres of terrain.
ACCOMODATIONS & CUISINE
Lodging options at Deer Valley are luxurious and often feature convenient ski-in/ski-out access. Guests can choose from a range of high-end hotels, lodge-style properties, and private condominiums and homes across three main areas: the base area (Snow Park), mid-mountain (Silver Lake), and upper mountain (Empire Pass). Noteworthy options include the Montage Deer Valley, The St. Regis Deer Valley, and the Stein Eriksen Lodge, all of which are full-service luxury hotels offering amenities like spas, butler service, and fine dining.
Dining at Deer Valley sets a high standard for mountain resorts, offering everything from casual cafés to award-winning fine dining. On-mountain dining is available at three main day lodges, including the Royal Street Café, known for its famous turkey chili. Unique dinner experiences include the Austrian-inspired Goldener Hirsch Restaurant and Fireside Dining, where four courses are served from stone fireplaces.
NIGHTLIFE
Deer Valley’s après-ski scene is sophisticated, with elegant lounges and bars at the various lodges, such as the St. Regis’s Vintage Room and Edgar’s Beers & Spirits Lounge. For more vibrant nightlife, including live music and a wider array of bars and clubs, guests can take a short shuttle ride to the historic Main Street in nearby Park City.
PERKS
Key perks include complimentary ski valets, free in-resort transportation, tissues in the lift queues, and a focus on exceptional customer service that makes the experience feel like an exclusive country club. The overall attention to detail and high level of hospitality are central to the Deer Valley experience.
