ABOUT THE RESORT

Chapelco is located 3 hours north of Bariloche in the heart of the Northern Patagonia Lakes District. The resort offers a family-oriented experience with diverse terrain and stunning views of the Andes, Lake Lácar, and the Lanín Volcano. While the mountain provides a modern ski experience, the charming nearby town of San Martín de los Andes hosts the primary lodging, dining, and nightlife options. San Martin de Los Andes is a beautiful laidback village with plenty of great restaurants for dining, shops, cafes, casinos, and fun nightlife!
THE MOUNTAIN
Chapelco sits on Cerro Chapelco, with a base elevation of around 1,250 meters (4,100 ft) and a top lift at approximately 1,980 meters (6,500 ft), offering a vertical drop of over 700 meters. The ski area spans approximately 140-160 hectares, featuring around 28-31 marked runs that cater to all skill levels: beginners (around 15-25%), intermediates (around 60%), and advanced/expert skiers (around 20-25%). The runs wind through picturesque lenga forests, providing a unique, sheltered, and scenic skiing experience.
ACCOMMODATION & CUISINE
Most visitors stay in the nearby town of San Martin de Los Andes Village is located 20 minutes by shuttle or car. The town offers a wide range of accommodation options, from luxury hotels and spas with pools to cozy cabins, apartments, and budget-friendly hostels. On the mountain itself, the exclusive Las Pendientes ski village offers ski-in/ski-out cabins and lodges for ultimate convenience.
There is also every type of cuisine imaginable, from succulent lake trout to tender Argentine beef. Some of the best Carnecerias (steak houses) found anywhere in Argentina are in this picturesque mountain village. Have you ever had a pizza topped with wild boar or venison? This is a real treat!
NIGHTLIFE
San Martin has great local pubs, wine bars, dance clubs, and casinos. Whether your idea of a night out on the town consists of martinis in a relaxing bar or dancing the night away to Latin music, San Martin is very lively.

The Mountain
Cerro Chapelco is a fun mountain for everyone, with open bowls and chutes on the upper mountain to some great tree skiing and long cruisers from mid-mountain down to the base area. You can also find some very nice off-piste skiing and adrenaline rushing steeps out-of-bounds!

- There is very good backcountry access off the top of the Filo poma down the backside, as well as back into the resort. The whole top of the mountain consists of large bowls and some chutes. There is also some phenomenal tree skiing, as the spacing is perfect.
