SKI SEASON
Mid-June to October is the best time for reliable snow. The last two weeks of July can be very crowded with South American school holidays. August has some of the biggest storms of the season and the powder stays good, since the sun is not very strong yet. Late August and September can be a mix between winter and spring conditions, which please powder hounds and corn snow aficionados.
THE MOUNTAIN

The resort boasts over 120 kilometers of slopes and a substantial skiable area, making it one of the largest in the Southern Hemisphere. Its name comes from the prominent granite peaks that resemble a gothic cathedral. The terrain is diverse, with a vertical drop of over 1,100 meters, featuring wide-open intermediate slopes, challenging advanced and expert runs (including excellent tree skiing and lift-accessed backcountry options), and dedicated beginner areas. The resort has invested in a snowmaking system to supplement natural snowfall, which can be variable, and operates around 40 lifts. The Cerro Catedral Resort has a wide variety of terrain to suit all ability levels. The upper mountain has wide-open bowls, chutes, mogul runs, and groomers, all being above timberline. Mid mountain down into the village offers delightful tree skiing, groomers, and plenty of bumps once you powder gets skied up. Catedral offers some of the best terrain for all ability levels in Argentina.
ACCOMMODATION & CUISINE

Visitors can choose between staying in the convenient base village or the nearby city of San Carlos de Bariloche, just 20 km away. The base offers numerous hotels, lodges, apartments, and condos, many providing ski-to-door access or being a short walk from the lifts. Options range from cozy, rustic lodges to luxury apartments with amenities like spas, heated pools, and restaurants. Bariloche itself provides a much wider range of lodging, from hostels to five-star hotels, with regular shuttle buses running to the slopes.
On the mountain, numerous restaurants and cafes like Refugio Lynch and Punta Nevada offer a range of food, from local dishes and empanadas to international cuisine, often with panoramic views. Bariloche is known for some of the best restaurants in all of Argentina. Everything from the juiciest steak you have ever eaten, to perfect gnocchi and fresh trout & perch. It also has wonderful bakeries, ice cream shops, and some of the best chocolate found anywhere in the world.
NIGHTLIFE
The après-ski scene in the base village is lively, with popular bars like Deer Beer Bar and Roca Negra offering craft beers, food, and live music right after the slopes close. For a more intense nightlife experience, the cosmopolitan city of Bariloche is the main hub, with many bars, nightclubs, and a casino where the party goes on late into the night.
