Getting There
ABOUT THE RESORT
Rusutsu Resort is 90-minutes away from the beautiful city of Sapporo and is Hokkaido’s largest year-round resort. With 4 gondolas and 14 lifts servicing 3 peaks, Rusutsu is home to 37 runs that range from wide-open groomers to challenging tree runs for those JAPOW hounds! The resort combines dynamic full-fledged winter sports with outstanding hospitality, delicious cuisine, and comfortable lodging. Rusutsu makes excellent use of Hokkaido’s abundant nature to promote the health of its guests. In an environment surrounded by nature, you can refresh your body and mind with delicious meals, exercise, onsens (hot springs), and traditional saunas.
ACCOMMODATIONS & CUISINE
At the resort there is a wonderful selection of room types, including relaxing junior suites, family-friendly rooms, and Japanese-style rooms. We will ensure you have the perfect accommodations for your ski holiday. Restaurants in the ski village source local ingredients, from Hokkaido-produced seafood to meat, and dairy products. There is also a nice selection of restaurants to choose from, such as Izakaya, French, Italian, and Japanese, so you will be able to find one that suits your taste each evening at the resort.
THE MOUNTAIN
What makes Rusutsu so much fun is the resort’s 3 peaks – West Mountain., East Mountain, and Mt. Isola – each with its own unique terrain features for you to throughly enjoy.
THE SNOW
Thanks to its perfect location to the southeast of Mt. Yotei, Rusutsu is protected from the high winds blowing in from the northwest that dump loads of powder snow. Since it’s close to the Pacific Ocean, the resort is also blessed with plenty of bluebird days.
ACTIVITIES
Covered in a silvery blanket of powder snow during winter, Hokkaido is also the place to experience a vast variety of unique snow activities. Guests can enjoy everything from snowmobiling to horseback riding, snowshoe tours, snow rafting (pulled by a snowmobile!), dog sledding, ice fishing, tent sauna & Kamakura outdoor snow dive, and more!
APRES & NIGHTLIFE
Main Bar is an elegant spot with candle light and jazz, perfect for kicking back and sipping a top-notch drink after a great day on the mountain. Pub Cricket is a lively place to have a bit to eat, watch sporting events, and sample some wonderful craft beer.
PERKS
One of the perks of skiing and travelling in Japan is enjoying the wonderful Onsens (hot springs). The hot water comes from underground at the base of Mt. Yotei. Soaking in an Onsen is the perfect way to finish a ski day and the therapeutic waters are perfect for soothing leg and back muscles.
